Mural, Salem Lutheran, Glendale, CA. In 2002 I painted this mural for our kids’ elementary school, Salem Lutheran, in Glendale, CA. The school playground has no grass field, so I wanted to showcase nature. The theme, God loves all things, great and small, lent itself perfectly to kids playing with outdoor creatures in a nature setting. Being used to drawing small, the scope here was quite a challenge. Here I am with my daughters, Meg and Mary. I painted two murals for the preschool at our church, St. Mark’s Episcopal, also in Glendale. Both murals share the Noah’s Ark theme. The tile mural, above, was completed in 1999. The wall mural was painted in 2008.
